Nín hǎo and welcome to China
...the country that takes you from modern and fast developing Eastern areas to remote western highlands. From northern vast grassland and Gobi desert to southern colourful minority regions; from a tropical climate beach to the magnificent mount Everest. And from newly established modern cites to thousand-year-old ancient towns. China provides a rich diversity of nature, culture and minority that only few countries have. And we cannot wait to introduce you to our country. We have created a number of signature trips for you – to ensure that your exploration with us is at eyelevel with the locals and well off the beaten track.
While you are in China, come see us at our Go Beyond Travellers’ Service Center in Beijing, located inside the Beijing Jade International Youth Hostel. Here you will meet Ms Duanran and Mr Jason, who are ready to empty their backpack of insider knowledge into yours, and help you book what you need for your China travels. Both have a rich knowledge about Beijing, their hometown, and have travelled extensively in China. Their insider tips and knowledge about Chinese geography, history and culture is extensive and they love to share it with curious travellers. In the Service Center a free welcome package is also waiting for you including a detailed English map of Beijing and metro route, emergency contact info, must-see programs and hidden gems of the city.
We look forward to welcoming you to this magnificent part of Asia – to take you beyond the ordinary in China.

”…My most precious travel memory was my trip to Tibet, driving with a team from Beijing in year 2005. We spent one month in total and stopped in Xian, Chengdu, Lhasa, Shigatse, Dunhuang, Xining, before going back Beijing. We really enjoy the wild open majestic scenery of snowy mountains and blue lakes. And spent lots of time with friendly local people. It was an eye-opening experience.
My first journey was to Inner Mongolia and it was my first time to see grasslands. Standing on the grassy plains are often at the highest point for miles around, a sensational feeling not unlike being adrift in the ocean. The local food mutton was my favourite.
Tibet is my favourite travel place: blue sky, snowy mountains, blue lakes, simple and friendly ethnic people, local culture and temples.
My best insider tip from Beijing is to avoid Beijing during the national holidays and summer vacation periods for students (July & August )

“…I travel because I love it – it is part of my life.
My most valued travel memory is my first trip along the silk road. I really enjoyed the wild open landscape of the Gobi desert and Pamirs, and the time I spent with friendly ethnic people. It was a real escape from the stress and tiredness of the big city concrete jungle.
My very first journey was to Xian back in primary school. The Terracotta Warriors impressed me deeply, and the delicious street food in the Muslim Night Market was a favourite.
Still, my favourite place to go is Xinjiang. The wide-open landscape makes me feel at peace and relieved; and it is a paradise for a photography lover like me.
