Day 1: Arrival Beijing
You will be greeted at the airport/train station by your driver and transferred to your centrally located hotel, either Beijing Jade International Youth hostel or Ron Yard Hotel Beijing. If you arrive before 14:00 pm, we recommend that you join the one hour orientation walk hosted by our English-speaking staff to get familiar with your surroundings and learn how to make the most of your travels in China.

Day 2: Beijing - Bike Tour
Full day biking tour through the narrow back streets of the old part of Beijing, to explore the real local things beaten the crowds, pass by Lama Temple, highest academy of Imperial Learning, Nan Luoguxiang Hutong, “Ghost Street”– a 24-hour food street, Houhai Lake areas, Jingshan Park – the hilltop is a great place to have a bird’s View of Imperial Palace, Tiananmen Square, “the Egg” - National Theater and the Exhibition hall of urban planning and construction, Qianmen Street- the oldest and most famous business street. You can stop in for a visit at any spots you are interested (the entrance fee is on your own expense), ride back to your hotel by evening.

Day 3: Beijing - Full-day Modern Art & Tech tour
In the morning, head for the Northwestern part of Beijing by subway. This part of the city is known as China’s Silicon Valley with many of the notable universities and the most important and largest high-tech companies, as well as lots of large electronic products markets. On the way, will stop at Beijing Zoo to witness the lovely Giant Panda Bears, a campus tour of Peking University and visit the Hailong Electronic Product Market.

In the afternoon a photo stop at the 2008 Beijing Olympics Parks and get a close look at the Bird’s Nest & Water Cube (exterior views), a masterpiece of modern architecture. Then go to the 798 Art Zone, which is a thriving artistic community rebuilt from abandoned military factory complex of unique architectural style, often compared with New York’s Greenwich Village or SOHO. Get back to hotel by evening by bus/taxi.

Day 4: Beijing - Full-day Market tour
Picked-up by guide in the morning, go to nearby Beihai Park on foot to witness and participate the locals’ morning exercise, including Taiji, dancing, peking opera singing etc. Afterwards visit Yashow Market, a large market at same character with the famous Silk Market but the price is much more reasonable, enjoy some bargaining fun over there.

The next door is the famous Sanlitun Village Complex, where is the most trendy and fashionable place in Beijing with several dozens of boutique shops, good restaurants & bars, then go to Panjiayuan Market by subway– the largest open-air curio market in Asia. And also pay a visit to the Panjiayuan Glass Mall nearby, the largest glass market in China. Evening explore the Wangfujing Pedestrian Shopping Street – the most famous shopping street and lively night food market nearby. Return to hotel for relax.

Day 5: Beijing
Full day is on your own exploration, enjoy a Kong Fu show in a local theatre at 19:15 pm (show ticket will be provided in advance, but round-trip transfers from and to the theatre will be on your own expense).

Day 6: Beijing - Bei Gou Village
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and together you go by public air-conditioned bus at 8:30 am , heading towards the northeast of Beijing. Before noon, you will arrive in Bei Gou and hosted by your family.

After short refreshments you will start hiking on the not crowded parts of the Great wall for about 4 hours depending on your energy. This section of the wall is untouched and the considered as a paradise of professional photographers.
Later in the afternoon you return to your guesthouse where you can enjoy relaxing time in the courtyard. Or you can choose to help your hostess gather fresh vegetables from the fields and learn to cook Chinese dishes. Enjoy a home-style Chinese dinner with beer, soft drinks and a cup of Great Wall Wine. Afterwards, you will have free time for exploration in the village where you can meet the locals.

Day 7: Bei Gou Village –Beijing
Enjoy breakfast in the morning in the tranquil countryside, followed by your chosen activity (please inform in advance to allow for preparations): Should you go biking the countryside or explore more of the Great Wall?

Option #1 – Biking: Go bike riding with your guide through the village and in the countryside. You will explore the area, pass by a river, the village committee offices, a rainbow trout farming base and in general enjoy the natural scenery and everyday life of the locals. You can make stops upon your request to take pictures. A Chinese lunch will be served in your home stay when back from explorations. You will have time to take a nap or hang around in the village until pick up. On the way back to Beijing you will have will have a short stop at Huanghuacheng Great wall (facade), which is built beside a beautiful lake.

Option #2 – Hiking: Go by private vehicle to the Huanghuacheng Great Wall and spend another day in the company of great mountain views, impressive man built structures and a breath-taking lake at the foot of the wall.

Transfer back to Beijing city by private vehicle. On the way, you will have a photo stop at 2008 Beijing Olympics Park – to look closer at the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube (exterior views). Please let us know your desired dropoff points in advance so we can arrange the transportation accordingly. Stay an extra night in Beijing (not included, please book separately) or continue to your next destination.
