    Itinerary

    Day 1: (6th of April) Beijing to Dandong by Overnight Train  
     
    You need to get to Beijing Railway Station and board the train to Dandong, the China's border city to the Democratic People's of Korea on your own.

    Accommodation: Overnight on Hard Sleeper Berth Train, #K27 (Departure at 17:27 pm, arrival at 7:22 am +1 day)
    Note: Please provide your hotel name and address upon booking procedure, in order for us to deliver the train ticket in advance.


    Day 2: (7th of April) Dandong to Pyongyang – Go by Train Through North Korea  
     
    Your train will arrive in Dandong Train Station at 7:22 am, where you will be met by your guide and your group fellows. Together at the same station, you will board the train to Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. Crossing the Sino - DPRK Friendship Bridge over the Yalu River to enter DPRK, then stop at Sinuiju on the North Korean side to get custom clearance. This procedure might take 2 - 3 hours, which you will have to wait on the train. Then we continue the journey through the North Korean countryside to Pyongyang. This train journey is a great opportunity for you to enjoy the countryside scenery and intermingle with the locals both on the train and on the bustling platforms where the train stops.
     
    You will reach Pyongyang in time for dinner at Yanggakdo Hotel and the rest of the evening is left free for you to spend in the hotel grounds.

    Suggested programs (on your own expense): Have a couple of beer at the hotel's microbrewery, enjoy the incredible vistas of Pyongyang from the revolving bar on the top floor, go bowling, swimming, and singing at karaoke!

    NOTE: Upon arrival in Dandong at 7:22 am, you need to go the EXIT of train station to meet your local guide who will be holding a sign with your name. That is where you will meet all group fellows, get your DPRK’s tourist visa (the visa is on a separate paper) and receive a brief introduction about the upcoming DPRK trip. The train to Pyongyang will depart at 10:00 am. 


    Day 3: (8th of April) Marathon Day!  
     
    Enjoy your breakfast that is served at the hotel restaurant. After breakfast, you will be met with your local guide and driver at the hotel and get transferred to the venue for the Marathon (everybody must go). Spend the morning as runner or spectator. 
     
    Your lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant, then we'll explore the capital in the afternoon.
     
    You'll finish your day with dinner and drinks at a local bar, then transfer back together with the group to the hotel.

    Note: Marathon Registration Fee = pay locally in cash 150 EURO per person, this apply to all the spectators and runners.
    Marathon Runner pays locally in cash - Full Marathon = 150 USD per person, Half Marathon = 80 USD per person, 5 Km Marathon = 70 USD per person, the fee applies to all the runners.


    Day 4: (9th of April) Pyongyang – Panmunjom – Kaesong – Pyongyang   

    After breakfast, we'll head to Panmunjom for the "Truce Village" that straddles the North/South Korean border and visit the Armistice Hall, where the truce was signed at the end of the Korean War. We'll be given the detail by North Korean military personnel to explain the history of the site before heading over to visit the DMZ or Military Demarcation line, the area that Bill Clinton described as "One of the most dangerous places in the world". You might have (depending on the circumstances) the opportunity to go inside the Blue Buildings, which straddle the border. Once inside you can walk freely across the North and South border.

    Afterwards, we drive to Kaesong to visit the Koryo History Museum and the Tomb of King Wang Gwon. We'll go for lunch befor returing to Pyongyang in the afternoon to view the Tower of Juche Idea. Then we will arrange you to experience the Pyongyang Metro, the world's deepest metro lines at the average of 100 meters underground. We'll be visiting the Mansudae Monument and view the newly constructed giant bronze statue of Kim Jong Il, now stood next to his father.

    This evening, we will enjoy the Duck BBQ at the best restaurant in Pyongyang. After meal, the tourist souvenir shop next door is the ideal place to buy some DPRK souvenir, such as books, CDs, DVDs, stamps, pin badges and propaganda artworks. After you finished dinner and bit of shopping, you will be taken back to the hotel.

    Note: Evening Optional Programs (The organized activity outside of the hotel ground, this will be on your own expense and available depending on the circumstance): go with the guide to the local funfair, see the orchestra performance, circus or bar.


    Day 5: (10th of  April) Pyongyang City Tour  

    After breakfast, we take a full day tour of Pyongyang. We begin at the Grand People's Study House, where we can stand in on an English lesson. You will meet the Great philosopher, who will answer questions on any subject. We'll also visit the library, computer room and music rooms.

    We move on to the Korean War Museum, where the shot-down US warplanes and captured weapons including the USS Pueblo - the only US navy ship in captivity anywhere in the world are displayed.

    Afterwards, we will have a farewell dinner in a Pyongyang restaurant before returning back to the hotel.

    Day 6: (11th of  April) Leave North Korea behind and head back to China!

    After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Pyongyang Train Station. You will board the day train back to Dandong City, where you will connect with the overnight train back to Beijing with the guide assisting for the train ticket and train connection at Dadong Train Station.

    Meals: Breakfast, Packed lunch on the train
    Accommodation: Overnight in Hard Sleeper Berth Train (train no.K28, departing from Dadong at 6:31 pm). 


    Day 7: (12th of April) Arriving back to Beijing  

    You will arrive back in Beijing at Beijing Railway Station at around 8:40 am.
