Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day & Welcome Meeting

Meet your group fellow at Go Beyond China office located at Beijing Jade Hotel by 16:00 pm. The Go beyond office representative will go through all the details of your upcoming tours with you at the meeting.

The hotel check-in time is after 14:00 pm. Free early check-in is subject to room availability on the day. You may store your baggage at the hotel and go self-exploration in the surrounding areas if you arrive before check-in time.

Day 2: Beijing, Half day Imperial Explore Beijing by foot & Peking Duck meal

Your tour guide will meet you at the lobby of Beijing Jade Hotel at 8:30 am and take you on a short walking tour for around 15 minutes. You will be taken to visit Tiananmen Square, which is one of the largest public square in the world, it borns witness to many significant events of China. You will see Great Hall of the People ( facade ), the Monument to the People’s Heroes, Chairman Mao’s Memorial Hall (facade), National Museum (facade).

Afterwards you will continue walking to explore the Forbidden city, which is the Imperial Palace of Ming and Qing Dynasty Emperors, the biggest and best preserved cluster of building in China (Optional for the visit of Hall of Imperial Jewelry - 10CNY/person, Hall of Royal Collection of Ancient Watches and Clocks - 10CNY/person, the extrance fee will be at your own expense).

After visiting the Forbidden city and if the weather permits, your guide will bring you to Jingshan Park, where you will climb the 43 meters Wan Chun Pavilion to have a bird view of the Forbidden city. And finally, you will have a big Peking duck lunch at local Chinese restaurant (drinks during the meal will be at your own expense). After finishing up the meal, you can continue explore the city and enjoy other activities by yourself or you can head back to the hotel and relax.

Day 3: Great wall excursion & Legend of Kung Fu Show

Your professional tour guide will pick you up at the lobby of Beijing Jade Hotel at 8:30 am, a private
air-conditioned vehicle is waiting to transfer you to visit Mutianyu Great wall. The Great wall is the indisputable symbol of China, and always top of the must see list for many travelers. Furthermore, Mutianyu Great wall is one of the best preserved and less touristy section. You will hike the Great wall accompanied by your guide to see it snaking across the hills and through the forest. Good chance for you to make some amazing pictures (Optional for taking cableway/chairlift/toboggan up-down the great wall, this will be at your own expense).

In the afternoon we will drive back downtown, on the way there will be a photo stop at 2008 Beijing Olympic park to have a close look at Bird’s Nest and Water Cube (exterior view), then you will be dropped off at Red Theater for Kung fu show (show time: 17:30 - 18:30). After the show, your guide will give you detailed information on how to get back to your hotel before leaving you and you will go back to your hotel on your own.

Day 4: Beijing – Xian by overnight train

Today is a free day for you to go explore the city before leaving for the next destination. Please check-out from your hotel before 12:00 noon, you can store your baggage at the hotel while you go out in the city.

The driver will pick you up from Beijing Jade Hotel at 17:00 pm and transfer you to Beijing West Station for Xian, train.

Note: Train No. Z19 (20:40-08:31+1)/Z43 (20:12-09:55+1), Hard sleeper berth. We recommend you to bring food for the train trip as for your dinner/breakfast.

Day 5: Arrival Xian

Upon arrival in Xian, your driver will be waiting and holding the sign with your name at the EXIT of the train station, he/she will transfer you to your hostel.

You can check-in, if the room is available in the morning. Free early check-in is subject to room availability. You can store your baggage at the hostel and go explore the surrounding area, if you arrive before check-in time (Optional for breakfast buffet at Han Tang Inn hostel at 35CNY/person from 7:30 - 11:30 am, the breakfast will be at your own expense).

The rest of the day is left free for you to enjoy the city.

Day 6: Essential City tour with traditional dumpling experience

You will be picked-up at 8:30 am from the lobby of Han Tang Inn. Today is a full day guided tour, the first stop is at Terracotta Warriors Museum, it is the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Life size terracotta figures of warriors and horses arranged in battle formations are the star features at the museum. They are replicas of what the imperial guard should look like in those days of pomp and vigor.

Afterwards, stop by at Ceramic Factory to see how the Terraccotta Warriors are made in traditional way. Then we will drive back to downtown to have a traditional Chinese dumpling lunch (drinks during the meal will be at your own expense).

After lunch, we will go explore Massive Ancient City Wall, it was first built in the Ming Dynasty and is the largest and the best maintained ancient city wall in China (Optional for a bicycling on the wall 60CNY/person/hour, this will be at you own expense).

Finally, you will be dropped off at Muslim Quarter where you can try various local food like ”Paomo” – the most iconice food in Xian, ”Raojiamo” – a local meat burger with a mixture of fat and lean pork pocketed in the baked bread. Enjoy your nighlife and go back to your hotel on your own.

Day 7: Xian –Chengdu by daytime Bullet train

Morning is free for you to sleep in or to explore the city, please check-out from your hotel before 12:00 noon. You can store your baggage after check-out at Han Tang Inn until you get picked-up at 13:00 from the lobby of Han Tang Inn. You will be dropped off at the the train station for your trip to Chengdu.

You will be taking the second-class seat train D1941 (15:15 - 19:27), or similar schedule. Approximate arriving time in Chengdu East Station is around 19:27 pm. On arrival, your driver will be waiting and holding a sign with your name waiting to transfer you to your hostel.

The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 8: Chengdu

Today is a free day for you to explore the city on your own.
 
Chengdu is blessed with an abundance of natural and cultural treasures, it is a leisure destination abounding with options and diversity. More than a close visit Giant Panda, you can also stroll Jinli Street to enjoy leisure time and try various Sichuan cuisines. Wide and Narrow Alley is a good place to go for Chengdu flavor and lifestyle, as well as Qingcheng Mountain, Dufu Cottage, Dujiangyan Irrigation System and Wenshu Temple.

Day 9: One day Magnificent Giant Leshan Buddha tour by fast train & taste Hotpot

Your tour guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of Mrs Panda Hostel at 8:00 am, you will be taken the public transporation (public bus/subway) to Chengdu South Station for Leshan train on C6263 (09:05 - 10:20 am), or similar schedule train in second class seat.

A guided tour to explore Giant Buddha, the Buddha was built in 713 A.D., it is the largest stone Buddha in the world. The buddha was carved out of a cliff face and remains a magnificent presence in Leshan city for over 1200 years. Giant Buddha is 71 meters tall, 28 meters wide, and the hair is made of 1,051 individual spiral coils skilfully embedded on the head. In 1996, the Leshan Giant Buddha were designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites (optional for a boat trip at Giant Buddha - 70CNY/person at your own expense).

Afternoon, we will take local bus back to Leshan Station and take train C6268 (16:31 - 17:38), or similar schedule train in second class seat to head back to Chengdu.

After arrival in Chengdu, you will take public bus to local restaurant, have the Hot Pot dinner - challenge yourself with the Sichun spicy food. Afterwards, heading back to your hostel on your own or enjoy the nightlife!

Day 10: Return

Today is your last day in Chengdu, if you don’t have any extension with us, your check out time is before 12:00 noon and our service ends here.
