Day 2: Pakse to the Tree Top Camp. Past flushing waterfalls and local villages until you check into your Tree House 10 m above ground.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the local representative office and travel onwards towards the Bolaven Plateau and the Tree Top Camp at 08:30 AM. After an hour drive you will arrive at Ban Nongluang. Stroll for a while through the village and chat with the local people. The village guides will accompany you for the next three days and give you important safety instructions. You will hike through coffee plantations and vegetable gardens. The trail winds down for a while, sometimes quite steeply, passing ravines, beautiful waterfalls and flower-studded plateaus along the way. Pass the huge Tiger waterfall and reach the giant Kamet fall where the water plunges more then 100 m down into densely forested valley basins with waterfalls apparently everywhere. This is where the zip lines start and the real thrill takes its course. Brace yourself for an adventure of a lifetime! Your lunch will be served in the wilderness around you.

After a day of great activity, you will finally settle for the night in Tree Top Camp. Your home for the next 2 days and nights will be a tree house almost 10 m above ground. These houses are designed in traditional style, made of wood, bamboo, and grass – and they can only be reached by a zip line! Breakfast and dinner will be served in a nearby restaurant area. Accompanied by the fiddling sound of the forest crickets, the day will turn into night and a good nights sleep is waiting for you.

Day 3: Tree Top Camp.
Trek and zip line through the jungle, and swim in the Red Rock streamWake up to a simple European-style breakfast and prepare for an easy 30-minute trek through lush forest before you reach the first zip line cable. Be ready for extended flights through the jungle canopy with the longest zip line being 400 m. Its speed, infinity and proximity to the usually invisible upper level of the forest is an amazing and unforgettable experience.Lunch is served in the midst of nature.

You will return to the camp in the late afternoon by passing the 'Red Rock' stream, where you will have time for a bit of rest and a swim before spending the night at the Tree Top Camp and falling asleep in your tree house.

Day 4: Tree Top Camp to
Pakse. Trek though the jungle and Via Ferrata your way to magnificent views
After breakfast, you will slowly trek uphill, passing a section of forest where gigantic trees dominate, obviously not yet spotted by illegal loggers. Then it gets a bit tough and jaw dropping when the trail suddenly ‘ends’ at a steep rock wall, only passable on a 'via ferrata', where iron U-bolts are glued into the rock. There's no way of getting around but to overcome this obstacle in order to get to the other side. Don't worry, it's safe and you are secured by state-of-the-art safety gear. It's not really long either, but immensely thrilling!

Upon reaching the top of the mountain, one of the highest peaks in the area, an open plateau rewards you for all the 'hardship' with stunning views of three waterfalls and vistas over the Mekong deep into neighbouring Thailand. You will take your lunch here before an easy 1.5 hours hike back to Ban Nongluang, where a car is waiting to bring you to Pakse.

Champassak Grand Hotel, or similar

Day 5: Pakse to Don Khone, 4000 islands.
Bicycle the Don Khone and explore the Mekong and other islands by boat
Self transfer to the bus station where your guide will meet you, and together you travel to the 4000 islands by local bus. The destination is Don Khone, the biggest of the islands, and a true Lao experience. Jump on a bicycle with your guide and discover the island together. Pick up trails that lead through the forests and past rice fields to hidden rapids and sandy beaches. From bicycle to long tail boat you will set out to explore the other islands. In around 1.5 hours you will go down the Mekong river and take in the local life, the forest, the colonial past and if you are lucky, spot the frolicking Irrawaddy dolphins.

Once back at your guesthouse, you have the rest of the day free to spend at your own pace. Your guide will at this point give you the needed information for your onwards trip to Siem Reap on day 4 incl. handing you the bus tickets.

Or see the local fishermen doing their daily work on the Mekong, visit the thundering Somphamit waterfall and the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia, Khonephapheng. And if you weren’t lucky on day one, don’t miss your chance to try your luck to see the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins at the Southern tip of the island.
