Please note that during the rainy season (typically between July and September), the trekking conditions are more challenging due to muddy trails. Also, parts of some treehouses may occasionally get wet and time spent in the canopy will be shorter than in the dry season as a result of longer walks.
To make the most of your experience, we suggest that you bring a head torch, walking shoes, mosquito repellent, binoculars, and a raincoat (in the rainy season)

Welcome to Huay Xai! Upon arrival at the Huay Xai Border Checkpoint or Huay Xai Bus Station, our representative will be waiting at the exit to welcome you and accompany you to your hotel.
Enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel and take some time to settle in and explore Huay Xai at your own pace.

Day 2: Gibbon Experience and Tree House
Please arrive at the Gibbon Experience Office by 08:00 AM at the latest to check in and attend the safety briefing before departing for the forest.
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive to the village, followed by a trek through the lush forest towards your tree house. The hike takes approximately two hours and includes some reasonably hilly sections. Along the way, keep your eyes and ears open for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the forest, including birds, insects, mammals, and, if you're lucky, gibbons.
Upon reaching your tree house in the afternoon, take some time to relax and enjoy the spectacular surroundings. You can also join an optional hike and experience the famous zipline network to explore another tree house in the area and increase your chances of spotting gibbons.
As evening approaches, dinner will be delivered to your tree house. Enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by the sounds of the forest and the opportunity to experience life high among the trees.

Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing the journey back to the Gibbon Experience Office in Houayxay, arriving in the afternoon depending on seasonal conditions.

Day 5: Huay Xai to Chaing Khong
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and prepare for check-out. Your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the Huay Xai Border Checkpoint for your journey across the border into Thailand.
Once you've cleared Laos immigration, you'll board a bus to cross the bridge over the Mekong to reach Thai immigration. Note that there is a small fee for the bus at your own expense.
After completing the border crossing and immigration procedures, a driver will be waiting on the Thai side to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Chiang Khong.
