Day 2: Cao Bang - Cultural villages - Khuoi Ky Stone (90km)
You will arrive in Cao Bang City in the early morning and check into our hostel for a few hours of rest and refresh before the adventure begins. Around 8:00AM, wake up and go for breakfast in town - maybe a steaming bowl of banh cuon or the purple/brown sticky rice.
Our first visit is God’s Eye Mountain, a unique karst peak with a giant “eye” hole through its center.  Continue to the East of Cao Bang, on the way we will visit: Ma Phuc Pass with its dramatic limestone peaks, Phia Thap Village for traditional incense making, Dia Tren Paper Village to see the craft of making dó paper, Phuc Sen Blacksmith Village, where knives are still hand-forged. Here in these villages, you can roll up your sleeves to try making crafts with the Nung An families there. Don’t be surprised if they invite you into their homes, offering tea, or sometimes their proud corn wine.
At noon, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will continue our journey. We will stop at Ba Quang Grass Hill (known as Vinh Quy grass hill) - A short hike leads to a scenic viewpoint with panoramic views over the surrounding valleys and mountains.
In the late afternoon, check-in at a homestay in Khuoi Ky Stone Village, a poetic setting village with centuries-old stone houses and unique rock formations.
In the evening, you will have dinner at the homestay, then free time to relax under the quiet mountain sky.

(For adventure seekers, there’s an extended route at about 1.5 hours that explores deeper sections of the cave. Entrance fee is: 195,000 VND/person, not included in the tour). Then head to the star of the day: Ban Gioc Waterfall, Southeast Asia’s largest, roaring down right on the Vietnam-China border. Continue along the Quay Son River, stopping for views of streams winding across flat valleys, a gentle contrast to the mountain passes. The next stop is Ngoc Son - Phong Nam Valley (optional, subject to favorable weather and suitable conditions for hiking). There, you will be dropped off for a short peaceful walk along a small road through the village, with sweeping views all around.
