Typhoon Kalmaegi Update

Strong Winds and Rough Seas Across the East Sea

The Thai Meteorological Department reports that Typhoon Kalmaegi (No.13) is now active over the East Sea, centered near 13.2°N, 112.3°E. The storm remains strong and continues to affect a wide area.

In the northern East Sea, including the Paracel Islands, winds are blowing up to level 7, with gusts reaching level 9 and waves as high as 4–6 meters. Along the coast from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa, including Ly Son and Cu Lao Cham, waves may reach 7–9 meters, with very strong gusts near the storm’s center.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across central and southern Vietnam, including the Spratly Islands. Inland areas such as Lam Dong, Ca Mau, and An Giang may also see rain, strong winds, and occasional whirlwinds.

By November 7, the storm is expected to weaken slightly, but strong winds and rough seas will continue in many areas.
Authorities are warning of high risks for coastal regions, especially from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak. Fishing boats and coastal residents are advised to take extra care and follow local safety instructions.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will share updates if anything changes.
