Itinerary
Day 1: Pak Ou Caves
Whether you choose a morning or afternoon departure, your journey begins with a private transfer from your hotel to the pier to board a traditional long-tail boat for a private cruise up the Mekong River. As you travel upstream, enjoy the tranquil countryside and the rhythmic pace of river life passing by until you reach the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. These two sacred caverns, carved directly into a towering limestone cliff, house a breathtaking collection of thousands of Buddha statues left by pilgrims over centuries. After exploring the spiritual depths of the caves, you will begin your return downstream, making a stop at Wat Done Khoun, a serene and unique temple situated on a quiet island in the middle of the river. The experience culminates with a peaceful cruise back toward Luang Prabang as the sun begins to sink behind the mountains, casting a golden glow over the water.
You will have the perfect vantage point to take in the spectacular scenery and the colors of the sunset before being transferred back to your hotel as evening settles over the town.
