Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara
We leave early in the morning from Kathmandu and make our way along river valleys, past terraced fields to Pokhara. It takes 6-7 hours' drive on the local tourist bus.
Transportation: Kathmandu to Pokhara by Public Bus
Accommodation: Budget class hotel in Pokhara
Day 2: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1540m, trekking time 4-5 hours)
This morning we will drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1035m). The drive is around 1 ½ hours by bus (around 46 kms). After the drive you cross the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola river and ascend slowly through terraced fields and classic mountain villages up from the river valley to Tikhedhunga.

Day 3: Tikhedhunga (1540m) to Ghorepani (2750m, trekking time 6-7 hours)
You have a steep ascent to get you going and then a more gradual uphill walk takes you to your lodge at Ghorepani. You will pass through some delightful villages and the beautiful, dense rhododendron forest so characteristic of Nepal at these altitudes. If the weather is clear, you will see stunning mountain views from Ghorepani, making the climb well worth it!

Day 4: Ghorepani (2750m) to Poon Hill (3210m) and Tadapani (2710m, trekking time 4-5 hours)
You get up early to hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) for sunrise; Approx. 1 ½ hour hike; Distance approx. 2 Kms. This morning, we travel back to Ghorepani, trekking onwards to Tadapani through rhododendron forest. If you are lucky, you will see some wild animals, such as langur monkeys climbing through the trees. There are excellent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare from Tadapani.

Day 5: Tadapani (2710m) to Chhomrong (2100m, trekking time 4-5 hours)
A short distance after Tadapani, the trail veers northwards and comes out into a small clearing before dropping sharply to Chiukle, where there are a few lodges. A maze of small paths leads down through terraced fields to a large suspension bridge over the Kimring Khola. After the bridge, we climb up past a school and along the terraces to the small village of Klisigo Chiukle. After a while we will see a succession of waterfalls. From here the trail climbs a little, continuing along the terraces to join the main Ghandrung- Chomrong route. Chomrong itself is a beautiful village, typically Gurung in style, situated in the lap of the great Annapurna massif. Chomrong has evolved into two separate settlements, new Chomrong at the top (2040m) and old Chomrong below (1950m), the main part of the village. Chomrong is the highest permanent settlement in the valley.

Day 6: Chhomrong (2100m) to Dovan (2430m, trekking time 6-7 hours)
The trail descends from Chhomrong to cross Chhomrong Khola before climbing steeply through a rhododendron and bamboo forest, up the west bank of the Modi Khola. Immediately after leaving, you reach the small settlement of Khuldi Ghat before another steep descent into the valley. The trial follows the river through another tiny settlement known as Bamboo which has some tea houses and crosses three streams before arriving at Dovan (2430m) and overnight rest.

Day 7: Dovan (2430m) to Machhapuchhare Basecamp (3700m, trekking time 6-7 hours)
This morning you start a long climb through intermittent bamboo forest. The valley becomes increasingly hemmed in by ever steeper slopes and there are regular streams crossing on the trail. You can also have some rest at Himalaya Hotel (2873m) before climbing to Hinko(3139m), a short path to Deurali(3231m) and on through Bagar to reach Machhapuchhare Base Camp.

Day 8: Machhapuchhare Basecamp (3700m) to Annapurna Basecamp (4130m, trekking time 2-3 hours)
This is a short hike of around two hours following the left-hand tributary of the Modi khola to reach the destination of the famous ABC.

Day 9: Annapurna Basecamp (4130m) to Bamboo (2300m, trekking time about 6-7 hours)
It is around 7 hours, mostly a downhill walk.

Day 10: Bamboo(2300m) to Jinhu Danda (1700m, trekking time 5-6 hours)
Today we will be trekking downhill to Jinhu Danda.

Day 11: Jinhu Danda (1700m) to Pokhara (trekking time 5-6 hours)
We can enjoy a final downhill walk-through forest and villages for about 5 hours to Nayapul. From here we drive for about 1 hour back to Pokhara where our trek ends, and we can enjoy a shower and relax on this stunning lakeside town enjoying the memories!
