Trekking Annapurna

A paraglider hitting the fine upwinds at dawn. A Tea House garden with hangout chairs, and a perfect view to the Fishtail Mountain. A family of four on a beautiful ridge above Ghorepani. Climbing stories told around a fireplace before darkness takes over.

Pokkara, with a stunning setting at the Phewatal Lake, is gateway to the Annapurnas. Annapurna is the area with most trekkers in Nepal, but there is a reason for this beautiful mountain views, good teahouses, and the possibilities of both easy lowland treks, like the Ghorepani trek and high alpine treks, like the round Annapurna trek.

The Annapurna base camp trek takes you into the heart of the Annapurna chain, but expect many trekkers here in season. In the Annapurna area, most treks are done as Tea House treks staying in small mountain Guest Houses on the way, and a guide and possible porter accompany you.

In Annapurna the best trekking season is spring, marts to May, and autumn, September including November. In spring, the potato field’s blossom, and all is crispy green. Autumn is clearest, after the summer monsoon is over, and temperatures are perfect for trekking. But, if You come in Nepal in summer, the Mustang trek is a very special option.
