Itinerary

The tour starts at New Road Guest House at 10.00 in the morning, where you will meet up with your guide. On the way to the pier, pass an abandoned, yet still functioning fire station on the brink of the river. Board the local river boat and move down Chao Phraya, the main river in Bangkok, from where you will see the amazing contrasts between rich and poor as you pass high-rise buildings and small wooden shacks almost falling apart.
When you get off the boat you will be in the middle of a local market where you will whisk through the smells and odors of the Bangkok street kitchens and markets. You will then pay a visit to one of the most bizarre museums in Bangkok – here mummified serial killers, handicapped babies and pictures of gunshots to the head are on display. After creeping it out in the museum you will cross the river and jump in a tuk tuk for your next destination. After getting off the tuk tuk a short stroll takes you to a hidden canal mostly known to the locals. It is dirty and smelly; yet, it is the neighbor to many people. See how the locals live by literally peeking into their kitchens and living rooms as the boat moves upriver.
You get off in a totally different part of the city. This is the entrance to the upscale and modern shopping district of Bangkok. Scattered with famous hotels, upscale private neighborhoods and shopping malls side by side. But there are also hidden temples and secrets in this part of town. Before you explore it further, have lunch in the local neighborhood followed by a visit to the temple of fertility. With colourful phallic statues, this truly is one of a kind!
After showing respect to the fertility god take a short ride with the sky train and mingle up with the local students hanging out between shopping malls and busy roads. In between this famous shopping district you will find a bizarre museum home to a weird exhibition of 14 dissected human bodies from Japan. This is not for the faint hearted! Jump on the sky train again to make your way back to where your started. Expect to be back around 16.00 with a head full of impressions of the weird and bizarre places that Bangkok has on offer.
Note: We need min 2 travellers to run the trip.
