The train ride from Bangkok to Chiang Mai can be a very joyful experience. Often you will find happy people and a kind of party atmosphere in the restaurant attached to the train. Enjoy the slow ride and a good nights sleep. When you wake up (the sun rises around 06.30) you will see a beautiful and green landscape flowing by as you slowly move towards Chiang Mai.
Please note: The train is often between 2-3 hours delayed

Day 2 : When you arrive to Chiang Mai train station a driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. He will take you on a short ride from the train station to ECO resort where you will stay the following 3 nights. When you arrive your room might not be ready until 14.00. If so, you can store your luggage and use the swimming pool to relax and splash around. The resort has many facilities to keep you occupied. Remember also to swing by the Go Beyond Service Office for a bit of inspiration, a friendly chat or that essential piece of advice.
Today’s trip will start between 12.30 – 13.00 hrs where you will be picked up.It is about 1 hour drive to get to the starting point of the trip. It is set in a local village that grows coffee for their living. Half of the staff employed is from the local village.
You will be instructed on and fitted with equipment – then it is off to the jungle and of you go zip lining through the forest canopy. Awaiting you are 28 stations (the longest one ranges a tremendous 900 meters1), 4 abseils and even a flying skateboard. You are guaranteed a lot of fun on this adventure.
You will go back to the camp where lunch will be served and expected arrival back in Chiang Mai is approximately between 20.00 and 21.00 hrs.

Day 3: Make sure to have an early breakfast as you will be picked up from ECO Resort around 08.00 hrs.
You will drive about 45 minute north of the city, which brings you to the beautiful Mae Ngat Valley. Start with a visit to the amazing Ban Den Temple located at the entrance of the Valley. Although this trip is not a Temple tour this Wat is hard to miss and makes a great starting point for your ride. Leaving all the glitz and glamour behind you will now head into the Valley through open rice fields, by passing local farmers tending to their crops, and by experiencing traditional farming. Cooling off you will stop at a local produce markets and see what is on the menu. Relaxed you will continue your ride through the rural villages to the south of the Valley.

After a fruity treat, you will swap your two wheels for a paddle and a kayak. You will then be ready to change pace, and leave civilisation behind. With help of the slow current of the Mae Ping River you will steer your kayak through the Mae Taeng Jungle Reserve, which is only accessible by boat. A truly peaceful, serene and quite setting, as bird life will accompany you through the Forest Reserve. When you can put down you paddle, you will have reached the far south end of the Mae Ngat Valley. Here you will usually be greated by a kayaking monk, a friend, and a cozy Restaurant in a plantation setting will be waiting for you with a well-deserved meal and a cold drink.
