Day 1: Hanoi - Ba Be National Park (215 km - 7 hours)
Depart your hotel around 08:00 by private van/mini bus and drive to Ba Be National Park. On the way, stop in Thai Nguyen city to visit the Museum of the Culture - the second largest museum in Vietnam for ethnic minorities. After your visit, continue the drive to Ba Be National Park.
Spend the night with a local family in a Tay village overlooking Ba Be Lake, and get close to local life in the countryside.
Day 2: Ba Be Lake
After your breakfast do a 4-hour boat trip on Ba Be Lake. On the way, stop at Dau Dang waterfall and the impressive giant Poong grotto with hundreds of bats.
Lunch is at Ba Be Lake in a Tay village. Visit the National Park with a spectacular waterfall, rivers, deep valleys, natural caves and small lakes surrounded by steep mountains up to 1.745m high.
In the afternoon, you will have the option to do a short, guided trek to one of the small Tay villages, which are scattered around the lake.
Dinner and overnight stay in your homestay at Ba Be Lake.

Day 3: Ba Be Lake - Ban Gioc waterfall - Cao Bang (300 km - 8 hours)
At around 07:00 drive to the largest waterfall in Vietnam, Ban Gioc. Separated into three falls by rocks and trees, it falls thirty meters and as the water hit the cliffs, you will hear it hundreds of meters away. At the foot of the waterfall lies a large river as a calm contrast to the flushing falls. Around you will see many precious flowers and the scenery will surely captivate you. During the visit, you will also have time to see the beautiful Nguom Ngao cave or “Tiger’s Cave”. This houses stalactites of various shapes and sizes and the grotto is famous for its uniqueness, size and wild beauty. Later in the afternoon you drive to your hotel in Cao Bang.

Day 4: Cao Bang - Lang Son - Hanoi (330 km - 9 hours)
At around 8:00am you drive through the remote countryside to the border town Lang Son, where your lunch will be served. In the afternoon you'll visit the beautiful caves where one holds a pagoda inside. You will have time to visit the town market with local produce and Chinese woodwork You then drive to Hanoi and stay there for the night.
Day 5: Hanoi to Halong Bay. Board your ship, kayak and feel the raw nature
Get ready for one of the most remarkable experiences you will have – exploring Halong Bay away from the crowds.
You will be picked up around 08:30 - 09:10 am in the morning from your Hanoi hotel and slowly leave Hanoi behind. Flow through the beautiful scapes of Hanoi outskirts, pass lush rice fields and take in the local life outside your windows.
Just past noon you will embark your ship, your home for the days ahead. After check-in procedure at the pier, enjoy a thirst-quenching welcome drink and meet your fellow sailors. Your lunch will be served while cruising among rough limestone islands standing tall before you. Majestic, beautiful and rough – just as nature created it.
As you sail deeper into the Halong Bay you will stop at Trong Cave for a bit of kayaking. Going by kayak allows you to get closer to the inlets and the raw nature and gives you a sense of freedom.
Back at the boat you will have time to relax before your dinner is served around 19.00. As the night falls you will have the choice to entertain yourself with squid fishing, karaoke, board games, movies or star gazing on the upper deck with a cool drink in hand. Overnight at boat (L, D)
Day 6: Halong Bay. Sail, kayak, go cave hunting and explore the less crowded areas of Halong Bay
Rise early to enjoy the sunrise before breakfast is served.. Before the crowds arrive, go to Sung Sot Cave - one of the most spectacular and largest grottoes of Halong Bay. You will enter a world of stalactites hanging from above and rays of lights and shapes wherever you look.
You will then go by boat to Cat Ba island, and some hiking in the Lush and beautiful Cat Ba National Park.
After the excursion you will go to Cat Ba City to have lunch and check in to your hotel.
In the afternoon, go to Monkey Island. Don't forget your swim suit as you will have the chance to swim from the beach. If you prefer to stay back in the town, you can easily go for some biking, shopping or swimming in the nearby area.
Your dinner is served at the hotel, and the evening is free for you to enjoy. Overnight at hotel (B, L, D)
Day 7: Halong Bay to Hanoi. Slowly cruise back towards mainland for your return to Hanoi
Rise early tohave breakfast and check out from your room. Your bus to the island pier leaves at 8:00 and from here you slowly sail back to the main land. Enjoy more of Halong Bay as you make you way back. Pass islets shaped as a Fighting Cock, Incense Urn, Lonely Dog, Finger and Duck. Your creativity and imagination are nurtured in Halong Bay.
Lunch will be served on the boat on the way back to Halong harbour around noon and Upon arrival back at the Halong Bay harbour swap from boat to vehicle and start your trip back to Hanoi.
You will be dropped off at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter around 16:30. (B, L)
