What can you expect during TET? The lunar New Year is very important to the Vietnamese. The days are spent together with family and relatives in private homes to celebrate. Expect the streets to be fairly empty and life at street level to be very limited.

There will be a lot of travellers and Vietnamese tourists in parts of Halong Bay, especially at the weekends.

Day 1: Hanoi arrival
On arrival in Hanoi, you will be picked-up and transferred to Hanoi center.

Accommodation: Overnight at Medallion Hotel, or similar.

Day 2: Hanoi city
Around 08:30 am, you will be picked-up from the hotel. Visiting Ho Chi Minh complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of the Vietnamese great father odar uncle Ho, President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt House – where he lived on and off from 1958 to 1969, One Pillar Pagoda – a group of structures consisting of a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square lake. Leaving One Pillar Pagoda and driving to West Lake to visit Tran Quoc pagoda and have lunch.

After lunch, you'll be visiting the Temple of literature and the Museum of Ethnology – the most interesting museum in Hanoi, with many different things relating to the 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. After that, you will visit Hoan Kiem lake (Restore Sword Lake). The last place of the tour is the old quarters of Hanoi, and enjoying the walk around. Drop-off at the hotel.

- Ho Chi Minh mausoleum is closed on Monday, Friday, the whole month of October and November!

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay. Board your ship, kayak and feel the raw nature

Get ready for one of the most remarkable experiences you will have – exploring Halong Bay away from the crowds.
You will be picked up around 08:30 - 09:10 am in the morning from your Hanoi hotel and slowly leave Hanoi behind. Flow through the beautiful scapes of Hanoi outskirts, pass lush rice fields and take in the local life outside your windows.

Just past noon you will embark your ship, your home for the days ahead. After check-in procedure at the pier, enjoy a thirst-quenching welcome drink and meet your fellow sailors. Your lunch will be served while cruising among rough limestone islands standing tall before you. Majestic, beautiful and rough – just as nature created it.

As you sail deeper into the Halong Bay you will stop at Trong Cave for a bit of kayaking. Going by kayak allows you to get closer to the inlets and the raw nature and gives you a sense of freedom.

Back at the boat you will have time to relax before your dinner is served around 19:00 pm. As the night falls you will have the choice to entertain yourself with squid fishing, karaoke, board games, movies or star gazing on the upper deck with a cool drink in hand.

Day 4: Halong Bay. Sail, kayak, go cave hunting and explore the less crowded areas of Halong Bay

Rise early to enjoy the sunrise before breakfast is served. Before the crowds arrive, go to Sung Sot Cave - one of the most spectacular and largest grottoes of Halong Bay. You will enter a world of stalactites hanging from above and rays of lights and shapes wherever you look.

From here you slowly sail back to the main land. Enjoy more of Halong Bay as you make you way back. Pass islets shaped as a Fighting Cock, Incense Urn, Lonely Dog, Finger and Duck. Your creativity and imagination are nurtured in Halong Bay.

Lunch will be served on the boat on the way back to Halong harbour around noon and Upon arrival back at the Halong Bay harbour swap from boat to vehicle and start your trip back to Hanoi.

You will be dropped off at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter around 16:30 pm.

Later in the evening you will be picked-up at 21:00 pm and transport to the train station to catch the night train from Hanoi to Hue at 22:00 pm.

Day 5: Hue Arrival
Arrival to Hue at about 10:30 am, you will be picked-up and transferred to the hotel.

After lunch, free time to explore the town.

Day 6: Hue City
Meeting with our guide at 08:30 am at your hotel in Hue. We'll start our tour with a boat trip along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, built in 1601, which is regarded as the symbol of Hue. Then the trip continues by car to the Imperial City - the capital of Vietnam from 1802-1945, which was recognized as a World Heritage Site.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll visit the Tu Duc Mausoleum - one of the most spectacular Royal Tombs in Hue, which is located in a narrow wooded valley in Duong Xuan Thuong village, 8km from the former imperial capital of Hue. The tomb was designed by the Emperor Tu Duc himself and was built between 1864 and 1867. Not far from Tu Duc Mausoleum is the Khai Dinh Mausoleum, built from 1920 - 1931. Khai Dinh Mausoleum is made mainly out of reinforced concrete rather than the traditional stone, a truly bizarre mélange of ancient and modern Western and Vietnamese architectural styles.

On the way back to Hue City, we'll make a short stop at Incense-making village and Conical hat-making village.

Day 7: Hue - Hoi An
After having breakfast in the hotel, you'll be leaving Hue at 09:00 am and driving to Hoi An. The car (minibus) will arrive in Hoi An at noon, where we'll have lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, a private city tour by foot in the Ancient Quarter of Hoi An, and discovering the historic town which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 17th to 18th centuries. The city tour includes a visit to Japanese covered bridge, Phung Hung Ancient House, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, Hoi An Local Market.

Day 8: My Son Holyland + Hoi An traditional villages
Departing from the hotel at around 08:00 am to My Son Holy land - the Hindu center of Champa Kingdom between the 4th and 14th centuries, located 55km West of Hoi An. Enjoying the Cham Dance for half an hour as soon as we get to the site. Afterwards some spare time to exploring the Holy land by yourself. After lunch, taking a private boat for a gentle cruise along the Thu Bon River to Thanh Ha Pottery Village & Kim Bong Carpentry Village.

Day 9: Free and Easy
Either walking around the town to see the daily life of the local people or going to relax on Cua Dai beach.

Day 10: Hoi An - Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City
Leaving Hoi An and driving to Da Nang airport, where catching a flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City. From Tan Son Nhat airport transport to the hotel.

Day 11: Cao Dai temple and Cu Chi tunnels
Depart Ho Chi Minh City at 08:00 am in the morning for Tay Ninh where the scenery changes totally with views of rice paddies, villagers drying noodles by the side of the road… the daily activities of.

Arriving Tay Ninh at noon, visit Cao Dai Great Temple which is considered as “Mecca” of Caodaism with special architecture that could have come straight from Walt Disney fantasy and the major faiths of the world have blended together in a unique religious cocktail. Founded in 1925, the temple is home to the Cao Dai religion - the sect's belief is that all major religions of the world came from the one source and belong to one god. The colorful and unusual murals that cover the temple's interior will catch your attention with their brilliance.

After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels in which an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. In Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc tunnel you can imagine what it was or to be a guerrilla with a Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47's in the Shooting Range. In the late afternoon, drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta
You will be picked-up at around 08:00 am and drive to Cai Be Town (about 3 hours driving), deep in the Mekong Delta - the second largest Delta in the world, and embark on a private boat. The tour begins by visiting the colourful Cai Be floating market, some local home-made workshops that produce rice paste, rice popcorn and coconut candy.

Proceeding to evergreen islands among the Mekong River through a large network of meandering tributaries, crisscrossed with countless arroyos. Lunch is served at a local home before cruising to Vinh Long to discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong Delta rural life.

In the afternoon, drive to Can Tho.

Day 13: Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, check out from the Hotel and take a small local boat cruising to visit colourful Cai Rang Floating Market, which is considered as the largest floating market in South East Asia, there will be hundreds of boats laden with fruits, vegetable, and fish, jostling for trade. Drive back to Saigon with a lunch stop on the way.
