Itinerary

Day 1
Please offer your arrival detail, such as flight number/Train number, driver will pick you up from the Arrival Hall of the Airport, or from the exit of the Train station and transfer you to Xiao Ya Hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free on your own arrangement or relax at hotel.

Day 2
Pick-up time: 8:00 AM, Pick up location: Xiao Ya Hotel lobby.
Your guide will meet you and start your full day culinary adventure, we will drive north to a village called Xizhou, and first go to try a taste of the famous “Xizhou Baba” or Xizhou Pizza. There are salty and sweet pizzas topped with savory pork or filled with rose petal jam. You will have a chance to learn and make your own pizza. We will sit in a coffee shop nearby and enjoy these delicious pizza with a cup of Yunnan’s indigenous coffee or tea for a late breakfast.

Following breakfast, we will go to the bustling Xizhou daily food market to buy all the ingredients we need for our cooking class around noon. We will lead you through the stalls and introduce the large variety of the local produce. Along the way we will stop in a local rice noodle shop and see how they make rice noodles and one kind of local specialty “er kuai” or rice cakes. Before we go back to Dali old town, we will first visit a local home who is living in a well-preserved traditional Bai House to see how “ru shan”, a local distinctive cheese to make, you will make your own cheese and take it back to our cooking course later.

Afterwards, we will stop by to visit an old family workshop in the village of Zhoucheng to see how the locals make the renowned tie-dye fabric. The local Bai families have been creating this traditional handicraft for centuries, and we can learn the process behind this creative tradition.

We will at the cooking school around noon time and start our cooking class:
Home-style Dumplings. We will make dumplings from scratch with different fillings and eat it as your noontime meal. The cooking class will finish around 3 - 4 PM, you will have 3 hours free time on your own arrangement. And will back the cooking school at 7 PM. And walking to have your dinner at one of our favorite local restaurant. After dinner, you will be walking back to your hotel on your own.

Day 3
Today is a recover and free day on your own explore in Dali.

Day 4
Check-out time is before 12:00 noon, if you don’t make any extension stay here. You will go to next destination on your own arrangement if you don’t make any reservation through us.
