Day 1: Delhi – Varanasi

Board the afternoon/evening train from Delhi to Varanasi and watch life pass by as day turns into night outside the windows. Spend the night on board the train in sleeper berth.

Day 2: Varanasi
In the morning, you will arrive the Varanasi railway station where your driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.
In the afternoon leave for a temple tour of Varanasi, where you will visit Bharat Mata Temple, SankatMochan Temple, Durga Temple, and TulsiManas Temple. After attending the evening Aarti (worship) at river Ganges and visiting the KashiVishwanath Temple, you return and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Varanasi
In the early morning, you will go on a boat ride taking you past the ghats.
After breakfast you will go on an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon in a Deer Park. It contains the most impressive remains, as well as a modern temple and the Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi and Dharnekstupas are outstanding. There are also the remains of a monastery, and the beautifully polished Lion Capital of Ashoka. Sarnath contains a rich library and at the MulagandhaKutirVihara, there are excellent frescoes by KosetsuNosu.
The Sarnath Museum, not far from the site, contains some of the finest specimens of Buddhist sculpture. The illustrious Mantra, 'BuddhamSharanamGachhami', owes its foundation to Sarnath. Besides Buddhism, it is also linked with Jainism. There is also a vast expanse of prehistoric ruins at Sarnath. Several Buddhist structures were raised at Sarnath between the 3rd century BC and the 11th century AD. The Ashoka pillar of Sarnath is the National emblem of India.
Continue your journey to the Ramnagar Fort. This is situated 14 kilometres from Varanasi and sited on the contradictory bank of river Ganga, built by Maharaja Balwant Singh.

Day 4: Varanasi
Free day to explore Varanasi on your own. You may visit the Ghats and temple or just relax at the banks of river Ganges.

Day 5: Varanasi – Kushinagar
Today you will drive to Kushinagar early in the morning (approx. 275 kilometres/6 hours). Upon arrival check in to your hotel and enjoy a bit of time to relax.
Later in the day you will explore Kushinagar. Visit Mahaparinirwana Temple (where Buddha took his last breathe), RambharStupa (cremation site of lord Buddha) and a Japanese Temple.

Day 6: Kushinagar – Chitwan National Park
Check out from your hotel and after breakfast, you will drive towards the Nepali border for visa/immigration formalities. Continue your drive to Chitwan National Park – expect a total of 250 kilometres of driving/6 hours.

Chitwan National Park is one of the finest national parks in Asia and listed as a world heritage site since 1984. It covers an area of 932 square kilometres and is renowned for its variety and amount of wildlife. Check in to your hotel, relax and get introduced for the program for the following days. (D)

Day 7: Chitwan National Park
Early morning you will do a canoe trip on the river to spot crocodiles in the surface and on the riverbanks. From here do a nature walk. In the afternoon do a jungle walk to see the wild animals. You will explore the jungle on foot for about 3 hours to see the wildlife. Your guide takes you to some prime location in the process of spotting Rhino, deers, wild boar, birds and if lucky may be a tiger. In the evening enjoy dinner and a Tharu dance performances by the native people of the area. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Chitwan – Shaktikhor – Upper Dangadi
Drive from Chitwan (approx. 2 hours) to your trekking starting point in Shaktikhor situated at 355 metres. Start the trek by following the river of Shaktikhor for 1 hour and then you will walk steep uphill to Upper Dangadi (1275m), which will be your overnight place. Upper Dangadi is a small village and you will be able to see the old fort made in the 18 th century. You may enjoy mountain views from here if weather permits. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Trek to Hattibang
After breakfast start an uphill walk through mixed forest to Bhanjyang. From here it will be down hill to Chepang village, which you may explore further. Gradual up hill and down hill walking takes you to Hattibang (1410m). On this day you will enjoy the beautiful mountain view of Mt. Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugalhimal and Manaslu. All together expect 7 hours of walking. (B, L, D)

Day 10: HugdiKhola – Kathmandu
About 3-4 hours of down hill walk through villages with different cultures will take you to HugdiKhola, which is the ending point of your trek and the beginning point of your rafting. Raft the Trishuliriver for about 2-3 hours and satisfy that adventurous heart of yours with fast rapids and thrilling water action.
Drive to Kathmandu (approx. 4 hours), where the tour ends. (B, L)
