Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi/Agra to Varanasi
Today you will take a train which is running in Noon/Evening and board the train to reach Varanasi. Overnight journey in train. It’s a comfortable class with sleeper and aircon. Overnight in Train
Day 2: Varanasi
In the morning, you will arrive in Varanasi railway station, where the driver pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon leave for a temple tour of Varanasi, where you will visit Bharat Mata Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, Durga Temple, and Tulsi Manas Temple. After attending the evening Aarti (worship) at river Ganges and visiting the the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, we return and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Varanasi
In the early morning, you will drive to get a boat ride and float past the ghats and then after breakfast go for excursion to Sarnath. Sarnath where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon in a Deer Park. It contains the most impressive remains, as well as a modern temple. The Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi and Dharnek stupas are outstanding. There are also the remains of a monastery, and the beautifully polished Lion Capital of Ashoka. Sarnath contains a rich library and at the Mula gandha Kutir Vihara, there are excellent frescoes by Kosetsu Nosu.
The Sarnath Museum, not far from the site, contains some of the finest specimens of Buddhist sculpture. The illustrious Mantra, 'Buddham Sharanam Gachhami', owes its foundation to Sarnath. Besides Buddhism, it is also linked with Jainism. There is also a vast expanse of prehistoric ruins at Sarnath. Several Buddhist structures were raised at Sarnath between the 3rd century BC and the 11th century AD. The Ashoka pillar of Sarnath is the National emblem of India.
Ramnagar Fort: The Ramnagar fort is 14 kms away from Varanasi and sited on the contradictory bank of river Ganga, built by Maharaja Balwant Singh. Drive back to Varanasi and over night at hotel.
Day 4: Varanasi - Delhi
Check out from hotel and spend the day at your leisure. Later proceed to the railway station for onward journey. Overnight in the train.
Day 5: Arrive Delhi/Agra
Arrive in Delhi or Agra and continue to the next destination.
