Day 2: Backwaters of Bangkok
The tour starts at New Road Guest House at 9.00 hrs, where you will meet up with your guide, who takes you to the nearby pier to board our long tail boat. From here you’ll move down the Chao Phraya the main river in Bangkok, with amazing backdrop views of the Bangkok skyline, before making a turn to enter the klongs. You will pass a range of local wooden stilt houses with clothes hanging to be dried in the sun, a local "7 eleven", klong style. Feel the atmosphere of having entered the klongs. You will hear Thai music being played from the houses, you will see birds looking at the trespassing boats, if you are lucky you will spot one of the sunbathing lizards.

The first stop is at the temple Wat Khun Chan where you will be inspired by the postmodern temples on one side of the klongs and the feeling of old days on the other with the beauty of the river crossing through the landscape. From there it’s onwards to the artist place, with old wooden walkways with artists, an old barber shop, an old grocery, vintage posters, colors of freedom, and a small stupa licking the sunlight. Feel the quietness surrounding this place. A stop will be made where you can feed holy Catfish. It’s a remarkable sight when hundreds of fish come to the surface seemingly out of nowhere!

Upon leaving the klongs you will see several houses on stilts and how locals live in small houses on the river. Then we leave the quietness and get back to noisy, Chao Phraya river and the majestic grand palace. The tour ends at the Chao Phraya River, Pier 9 around 12.30. From here the rest of the day is free for you to do as you please. You can visit the temples on your own, continue to the shopping malls or take the public ferry and sail back to New Road Guest House. Your guide can point you in the right direction.

Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: Overnight at New Road Guest House in Standard air-con room
Note: the Backwaters of Bangkok half day tour needs a minimum of 3 persons to operate. If the minimum is not, we will either rearrange the days and/or substitute with another experience, or refund this part of the itinerary. Should this be needed, we will always do this in co-ordination and agreement with you.
Day 3: Bike tour in Bangkok
Start you day with a hearty breakfast, and either doze around or explore the city in the morning.
Your bike tour begins at 13:00 from Sukhumvit Road, Soi 24. You will need to arrange your own transportation to/from the starting point – just ask the Travel Advisors at New Road for information on the best way to get there.

Once ready, you will cycle through the lively Klong Toey market, far away from Bangkok's congested roads. Here you’ll find a year–round, colorful mixture of Thai and Chinese goods for sale. The route will also take you through a working–class neighborhood, where you can experience yet another side of the metropolis. You’ll also pass through Little Chinatown where children enthusiastically wave and yell “hello” at the unusual sight of foreigners on bicycles. When you cross the river, you will enter the jungle area, cycling on the narrow concrete pathways and enjoying the natural environment and cozy atmosphere among the local people.
