Itinerary

Longtail Boat Cruise
At 9:00 am, you’ll meet your guide at New Road Guest House near Charoen Krung Soi 36 and start your adventure with a river cruise by longtail boat on the majestic Chao Phraya River that flows through the heart of Bangkok. On this cruise, you’ll admire the contrast of the city’s towering skyscrapers on one side and the small river communities that continue to thrive along the opposite bank.

Bangkok’s Best and Biggest Fresh Market
We dock our boat and go biking to Khlong Toei, an urban low-income area in Bangkok, where you’ll get to experience how the locals live in humble shacks along the canals. Khlong Toei is also the site where we experience the biggest wet market in Bangkok. They sell anything here, from insects to frogs and more, there is something for everyone to see at this market.
We’ll dock our longtail boat and bike towards Khlong Toie, an urban low-income neighborhood in south-central Bangkok. We’ll experience how locals in this area live as we follow backstreets and canals to descend on the Khlong Toei wet market. This bustling local gem is Thailand’s biggest fresh food market, with hundreds of stalls selling everything from raw meat, vegetables, fruit and seafood that have been brought here from the nearby fishing port. Prepare yourself for a real Thai market where the locals flock for the best bargain and most hard-to-find ingredients and dishes.

Bangkok’s Green Lung
From the market we’ll bike towards Bang Krajao, crossing the iconic Chao Phaya river with our longtail boat and cross into Samut Prakan province. If you pop open Google Maps, you’ll see what we mean by “Green Lung” as this island of green is surrounded by the urban jungle of Bangkok on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya. You‘ll immediately get a feeling for what the provinces of Bangkok are like instead of the concrete jungle of Thailand’s big cities. For a brief moment, you’ll enjoy a break and ride around the tranquil and tropical surroundings that are one of the most popular getaways for Bangkokians. We’ll take our time to enjoy the ride and follow some tropical jungle trails and visit some interesting sites…

Thai Snacks & Local Life
As we hop from jungle trail to jungle trail, we’ll stop at a local restaurant to satisfy some mid-afternoon food cravings and try some local dishes. And don’t worry, we’ll provide water, fruit and other local snacks as we ride along, letting our experienced guide select the day’s most interesting fare as we go along.
When we’re finished enjoying the fresh air, we’ll ride back to the dock and hop back on our longtail and cruise back to New Road Guest House. You will arrived back to New Road Guest House approximately at 15:00 pm.
