Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Hotel in Bangkok
Ensure a soft landing and kill that jet lag as quickly as possible. Go Beyond Asia's arrival package will take you directly from the airport to your hotel. Relax a few nights in our accommodations and get inspired during our information meeting.
New Road Guest House has a very central and convenient location - 5 min. walk from the Skytrain, 3 km from China Town and 15 minutes taxi drive from all the popular shopping places. Our guest house is a place with great atmosphere and home like surroundings. In the middle of hectic Bangkok you will find this nice hotel which is very popular among travelers all over the world. Next to the lobby you will find our Service Center that can provide you free travel advice from experienced European and local staff.
The lobby, cafe area and most rooms just went through a comprehensive renovation leaving the guesthouse new and fresh. Despite the new interior the guesthouse have kept budget rates with prices and rooms for everyone

Day 2: Urban Bangkok Explorations – Bike tour
Breakfast will be served from 07.00 in the restaurant at New Road Guest House.
09.00 You will have to be ready to leave New Road Guest House to join the Bangkok Bike trip. The tour begins on Sukhumvit Road, soi 26 at 10:00 (For detailed directions, ask the Travel Advisor).
This bike tour takes you backstage for an unforgettable Bangkok experience. Explore on two wheels the narrow alleys of ‘Little Chinatown’, fresh food markets and working class neighborhoods. Discover the idyllic charm of Bangkok life across the Chao Praya river, where you will traverse orchards of jack fruit, dragon fruit, palm trees and more from the vantage point of elevated pathways. The surroundings here are green; the air fresh and clear. Return home with pictures and stories that few other tourists can.
The evening is at Leisure – ask the Travel Advisor for recommendations for good restaurants.

Day 3: Explore the Backwaters of Bangkok and flow towards Mae Sot
Breakfast will be served from 07.00 in the restaurant at New Road Guest House. This morning the tour starts at New Road Guest House at 9.00 hrs, where you will meet up with the guide, who takes you to the nearby pier to board our long tail boat. From here you’ll move down the Chao Phraya the main river in Bangkok, with amazing backdrop views of the Bangkok skyline, before making a turn to enter the klongs.
You will pass a range of local wooden stilt houses with clothes hanging to be dried in the sun, a local "7 eleven", klong style. Feel the atmosphere of having entered the klongs.
You will hear Thai music being played from the houses, you will see birds looking at the trespassing boats, if you are lucky you will spot one of the sunbathing lizards.
The first stop is at the temple Wat Khun Chan where you will be inspired by the postmodern temples on one side of the klongs and the feeling of old days on the other with the beauty of the river crossing through the landscape. From there it’s onwards to the artist place, with old wooden walkways with artists, an old barber shop, an old grocery, vintage posters, colors of freedom, and a small stupa licking the sunlight. Feel the quietness surrounding this place.
You will continue to the orchid farm where your guide will share his thorough knowledge about the orchids and how to make a lunch pack with materials found in the nature – a quite amazing place. A stop will be made where you can feed holy Catfish. It’s a remarkable sight when hundreds of fish come to the surface seemingly out of nowhere!
Upon leaving the klongs you will see several houses on stilts and how locals live in small houses on the river. Then we leave the quietness and get back to noisy, Chao Phraya river and the majestic grand palace. The trip ends at pier 9 (the Grand Palace pier). From here you can visit the temples on your own, continue to the shopping malls or take the public ferry and sail back to New Road Guest House.
The afternoon is free for your disposal. You will have the possibility to pack your bag for the trekking trip at and take a shower before you will meet at New Road Guest House around 20.00 (please ask the service guide about the exact time the day before). From here you will go by car to the bus terminal and onwards with a Aircon Night Bus from Bangkok to Mae Sot. A guide/driver will take you to the bus station and make sure you get on the correct bus but he will not join. Upon arrival in Mae Sot a new guide will wait for you at the bus station.

Day 4: Mae Sot to Umphang – Border town ambience and by winding roads to Umphang
In Mae Sot our local staff picks you up. You will have the opportunity to sleep in Mr. Lar’s Resthouse for a couple of hours (expect basic shared accommodation). After breakfast you will be taken to on a short ride to the Thai-Burmese border market at the river Moi.
After lunch you go by public Songthaew (half open pick up truck) to Umphang. It is a beautiful 4-hour ride through the mountains with more than 1,000 turns in the road (if you suffer from motion sickness you might contemplate to take medication to avoid feeling nauseous). Accommodation for the night will be in basic huts/houses. You may leave some of your belongings in Mae Sot or here in order to lighten your load for the trekking ahead. You can collect it again on day 6.

Day 5: Umphang – Rafting and trekking past limestone cliffs; through the dense jungle and bamboo forest
After breakfast the easy rafting takes you on the narrow Mae Klong River through the forests cape. From the riverside there are three-four hours of fine trekking to the camp area in Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary where your guides will pitch tents and cook dinner.

Day 6: Umphang – Swim in Southeast Asia’s largest waterfall and spend the night in a local Karen village
After breakfast you will walk to the impressive waterfall Tee Loi Su, South East Asia’s largest waterfall. Bring a towel and swimsuit and you can take a refreshing swim and if the water level permits, cliff jump from the top of the waterfall. Afterwards you will walk through bamboo forests, cross bridges and walk through dense jungle to the Karen village of Ko Tha where you spend the night in a local, traditional Karen house.

Day 7: Umphang to Mae Sot – Trek through the jungle in the morning before heading back to Mae Sot
Wake up to a scrumptious jungle breakfast. In front of you is 3 hours of trekking through the jungle and over a small hill to Palatha. Here your transport back to Umphang is waiting for you.When back at Umphang you can take a shower before heading back to Mae Sot. You will have an extra night in Mae Sot at a simple resthouse (basic facilities) and the night is free for you to explore the city. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Mae Sot to Chiang Mai then Massage and relaxation
In the morning breakfast will be served before you board the bus to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival you will get picked up and transferred to ECO Resort where you will stay the next 4 nights. When you arrive your room might not be ready until 14.00. If so, you can store your luggage and use the swimming pool to relax and splash around. The resort has many facilities to keep you occupied. Remember also to swing by the Go Beyond Travel Service Center for a bit of inspiration, a friendly chat or that essential piece of advice. At 15.00 Hrs you will get picked up take to a truly amazing spa in Chiang Mai city. You will have a 2 hours treatment package including Reflexology Foot Massage & Aromatherapy Oil Massage. Lean back and enjoy while you are in good hands. The evening is free for your disposal.

Day 9: Ziplining and time for relaxing in the afternoon
Today you have to wake up early to be ready for the adventure zip lining. Pick up is between 06.30 and 07.00. If you want breakfast a “grab-and-go” breakfast box can be arranged in the reception the night before (please remember to arrange by yourself). It is about 1 hour drive to get to the starting point of the trip. It is set in a local village that grows coffee for their living. Half of the staff employed is from the local village.
You will be instructed on and fitted with equipment – then it is off to the jungle and of you go zip lining through the forest canopy. Awaiting you are 28 stations (the longest one ranges a tremendous 900 meters), 4 abseils and even a flying skateboard. You are guaranteed a lot of fun on this adventure.
You will go back to the camp where lunch will be served and expected arrival back in Chiang Mai is approximately between 14.00 and 15.00.
The rest of the day is free for your convenience. Ask the friendly Travel Advisor for suggestion, if needed.

Day 10: Free time – Hidden Chiang Mai Food & Bike tour
After woke up really early yesterday, Today you can sleep as long as you desire or you can wake up early and take a refreshing morning dip in the swimming pool. Breakfast is served in the restaurant between 06.30 and 10.30. You are free to explore the city as you please, contact The Travel Service Center at Eco Resort can help you organize trips or give you insider tips about what to do in Chiang Mai on your own. But be sure to be back at ECO Resort before 16.00 Hrs. for be ready for Chiang Mai Food & Bike tour.
From ECO Resort you go by local songthaew to the starting point of the bicycle tour. Once you have your bike in your hand and two wheels below, you go through the old city and pay a short visit to Wat Phra Singh temple. From here it’s time to get lost way off the beaten track with a visit to the artistic and hip area of Nimmanhaemin Road and Chiang Mai University. On the way your guide will let you try some delicious local snacks and on the local night markets, you will fill up your appetite and stomach. Then it is time to burn off those calories as you proceed through the backstreets of the city and local neighbourhoods. One of the last stops will be at the famous Wat Chedi Luang Temple in the middle of the old town. At night the Chedi is illuminated which gives the temple a magical view. Around 21:00 you will be back at the bike shop where you started the tour. From here you can visit the old town by yourself, continue to the Night Bazaar or return to ECO resort. Your guide will help you find transportation to your desired destination.

Day 11: Free time – Cooking Course
Another beautiful day with explorations welcomes you. Today you still can sleep as long as you desire or you can wake up early and take a refreshing morning dip in the swimming pool. Breakfast is served in the restaurant between 06.30 and 10.30. You are free to explore the city as you please again today. But be sure to be back at ECO Resort in time, as you will be picked up between 16.00 and 16.30 for your evening cooking course. You get to choose 4 of your favourite Thai dishes and then venture off to the local market to help shop for the right ingredients. When back at the cooking station you will be guided through the preparation and cooking by the funny chef. After a nice and well-deserved self-cooked dinner you have time to explore the night market or go back to the resort to relax.

Day 12: Free day and return trip to Bangkok
Today is free, you can wake up whatever time you like. Enjoy breakfast served between 06.30 and 10.30. The Travel Service Center at Eco Resort can help you organize trips or give you insider tips about what to do in Chiang Mai on your own. The train will leave from Chiang Mai at 17.00 – 17.30 hrs. Pick up will be arrange from the resort 1 hour before departure.

Day 13: Bangkok – free day
Upon arrival in Bangkok you have to get from the train station to New Road Guest House yourself. It is not very far and a taxi ride should only cost you between 60 – 100 THB.
The room at New Road Guest House will be ready from 14.00 for check in.

Day 14: Free time for shopping & Transfer to airport
Breakfast is served in the restaurant at New Road Guest House from 07.00.
You will have free time to do your final shopping in Bangkok’s fashionable shopping centers or markets. You will also have time for one last dinner or drink at one of the sky bars in this amazing city.
The transfer to the airport will be ready 22.00 from New Road Guest House and you will be able to take a refreshing shower before going to the airport. (B)
