Day 1: From Bangkok to Sai Yok National Park
This morning your escort will meet you at New Road Guesthouse at 06:00 am. Let the adventure begins! You will head to Thonburi Railway Station by public bus. From there, embark on an authentic journey across the Thai countryside. There's something not quite right about taking a bus to Kanchanaburi. It's more appropriate - and much more fun - to take the train from Bangkok and cross the world famous Bridge on the River Kwai using the "Death Railway" itself, a railroad track built by Allied prisoners during WW2. On arrival at Namtok train station, meet your guide for a quick transfer (about 15 minutes) by local pick-up truck to Sai Yok National Park.
On arrival at the National Park, you will be welcomed by the family who runs the restaurant and floating bungalow. It is time to board your private floating rafts and enjoy a well-deserved local lunch. Get ready for a real jungle adventure! Your raft will be pulled away by a longtail boat until you reach a quiet curve in the river. Surrounded by nature, you will hear no sounds other than the birds singing in the trees and some occasional monkeys fighting for a juicy hanging fruit. We have loaded lunch, soft drinks, beers for you on the raft, everything you need to sit and relax between quick swims in the cool waters.
By late afternoon, get ready for the second part of your jungle experience. Board a kayak right from the raft and cruise downstream through the National Park. After passing by a couple of accommodations and floating rafts, you will enter deep into the National Park. You won’t see a single human construction or building for a few kilometres until you reach your destination. Built by a Norwegian and his Thai best friend with their bare hands, the camp is powered by solar panels and rain water is used for the shower and toilet facilities. You will spend the night under a tent and enjoy a tasty BBQ dinner prepared by the villagers.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Overnight in Camping Tent.
Day 2: Sai Yok to Kanchanaburi
Begin your day with a tasty local breakfast made of rice soup and omelet cooked in bamboo. Then, hop on a bicycle and ride to the village to meet with the park rangers. They will take you through the thick jungle and introduce you to basic survival skills in this rough environment. The level of trekking difficulty can be adjusted according to your fitness level.
Return to the village for lunch before we cross the river and meet our driver. You'll be transferred back to Kanchanaburi and droped off at your hotel. If time permits, we'll make a quick stop at the legendary Bridge over the River Kwai for some souvenir photos.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: Overnight at Guesthouse in Kanchanaburi.
